All winter long the earth holds still.
Beneath the frozen ground, life waits.
Seeds rest in the dark.
Rivers slow.
The body tightens and conserves its energy.
But nothing stays frozen forever.
Eventually the sun returns.
The ice begins to soften.
Water moves again.
And what was held in stillness begins to thaw.
The Body Holds Winter Too
We carry seasons inside us.
There are times when parts of our body, heart, or spirit go quiet.
Emotions become frozen.
Movement becomes smaller.
We protect ourselves by holding still.
But the life force never disappears.
It simply waits.
The thaw is not forced.
It happens slowly, naturally, when warmth returns
This dance, we explore the gentle process of unthawing.
Through music, breath, and intuitive movement we will allow the body to soften where it has been holding.
To shake loose what has been frozen.
To let old layers slough off like melting ice.
There is no choreography and nothing to perform.
Just listening to the body’s wisdom and allowing movement to unfold naturally.

What is Dancing Freedom?
A Practice of liberation
Dancing Freedom is a practice of liberation. It is a somatic, ecstatic and shamanic dance practice supporting the emergence of living oneness. It is fun, easy, elegant and empowering. It heals. It reveals. It welcomes. Any person of any age, size, color or creed can do it. When we come together we come in peace to create a deep space of shared practice, transformation and community.
Dancing Freedom is a yoga of motion.
Stillness and action co-create each other. The spiritual journey is a love dance in the space within and between. To be one, at peace, and at home, with the cosmic dance is to be free. Though we are already free, we forget. Dancing Freedom practices shine light into the cellular truth of wholeness. We travel somatic, ecstatic and shamanic currents HOME.
