About this Event
What can a brush, ink and a few simple strokes teach us about life?
The Tao, often translated as “the Way,” is an ancient Chinese philosophy of living in harmony with nature, ourselves and the rhythm of life. Chinese calligraphy offers a unique way to explore this wisdom, not only through ideas, but through practice.
For centuries, calligraphy has been more than beautiful writing. It has been a discipline for cultivating calmness, concentration, balance, beauty and character.
In this hands-on workshop, discover the ancient wisdom behind Chinese calligraphy through teachings from Taoism and Confucianism, including Yin and Yang, simplicity, harmony and self-cultivation.
You will also learn about the traditional brush, ink and paper, explore the origins of Chinese characters, practice basic strokes, and create meaningful characters and discover their wisdom.
Experience how breath, posture and mindful movement can turn the act of writing into a practice of presence and inner harmony. And also create an individualized card / bookmark to take home with you!
No previous knowledge is required. All materials are included.
Come explore ancient wisdom through the art of Chinese Calligraphy, one brushstroke at a time.
We look forward to meeting you!
