From the Shadow to the Substance
Long before the cross, God gave Israel the sin offering (Leviticus 4). An unblemished animal died in the sinner's place, and through its blood the sinner received forgiveness. Yet those sacrifices could never make the worshipers perfect, so every time they sinned, they had to bring another offering.
Hebrews 9 and 10 reveal the One those sacrifices pointed to: Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, who offered Himself once for all and obtained eternal redemption for us.
Come and see how the shadow gives way to the substance.
