About this Event
Meet your host: Melissa Black
The Strong Woman’s Weekender is created and hosted by Melissa Black, founder of The Strong Woman Program and The Studio Tynemouth.
A professionally trained dancer and choreographer, qualified teacher, personal trainer and yoga teacher, Melissa has spent more than 20 years helping women discover what their bodies—and their lives—are capable of.
For Melissa, movement has never been simply about fitness or appearance. Dance has been part of her life since childhood, becoming her lifeline during some of its most difficult and traumatic chapters. When life felt uncertain, dance gave her somewhere to put everything she couldn’t yet explain. It became her escape, her strength and, quite literally, her therapy.
That personal experience sits at the heart of The Strong Woman Program. Melissa understands that movement can help us reconnect with ourselves when life has pulled us away from who we are—but she also knows that true strength is about far more than physical fitness.
It’s about nourishing yourself properly, finding your voice, rebuilding your confidence and learning to prioritise your own needs without guilt.
Melissa created the program to give women the kind of space movement once gave her: somewhere to feel supported, challenged and looked after; somewhere to reconnect with their identity and begin finding themselves again.
Warm, honest and refreshingly down-to-earth, Melissa will guide you through the weekend, teach selected movement sessions and bring together an extraordinary group of women for two days of genuine connection.
This is more than a programme Melissa teaches. It has grown from everything she has lived, learned and rebuilt—and from her belief that every woman deserves the opportunity to discover her own version of strength.
