October in Sacramento is a magical time and The Stacks is celebrating with the multi-faceted performing artist, director, and professor of vocal music, Omari Tau.
Omari is a Sacramento native and Co-Founding Artistic Director of Rogue Music Project, Professor of Vocal Music at Cosumnes River College, and member of the band Solabel.
For this performance, Omari Tau weaves together songs that are at once new and hauntingly familiar. Blending his love of soul, jazz, and even classical music, Tau tackles Nina Simone, Kurt Weill, and more. He is joined by cellist Natalie Hagwood, and pianist/composer Graham Sobelman as they reimagine tunes for Amatoria’s unique space.
For this event we encourage you all to dress to the nines for a salon-style evening of music, wine, and conversation! Don your latest Sacramento vintage find and have a glamorous night out with us.
Enjoy an exclusive, up-close 40-minute set surrounded by a curated selection of music & art books.
We'll have a quick Q & A with the artists where you can ask questions and load them up with praise, then stick around for refreshments, mingle with a roomful of creatives, and browse amazing books on the arts. We'll provide wine, beer, bubbly water, and snacks.
Important Event Notes:
Doors! Doors open at 6:00 but will close at 6:30pm! This is a filmed event and to ensure no disruption, we unfortunately cannot accommodate late entrance.
Seating! Amatoria has 25 seats and all our events sell out, please don't try to attend without a reservation in advance. Call the store ahead of time if you need special accomodations.
Parking + Bike Rack! We now have our own bike rack right out front of the store. If you are driving, there is plenty of neighborhood parking available.
Filming! This is a filmed event that will be the property of KVIE and shared on the Abridged platform. The focus will be on the artists and the interviewer, but all concert guests may appear on film. By purchasing your ticket, you are giving permission for Abridged to use footage that may include you.
