A Jarman Now Workshop
Saturday 28 March 2026 (ticket sales end 26th March)
Studio 1: Galleria Studios, Peckham — 11:00 AM
Guided Thames Walk — 3:00–4:30 PM (South Dock Marina, Rotherhithe)
Step into a day of creativity, symbolism, and urban magic as we explore the world of Tarot and the transformative landscapes of Derek Jarman’s South London.
This unique workshop blends hands‑on artistic making with an afternoon walk tracing the alchemical threads that link the Thames’ South Bank to Jarman’s visionary practice. Connect with a small group of curious, like‑minded participants in an intimate and reflective setting.
What to Expect
Part 1 — Morning Workshop (Studio 1)
Explore the rich symbolism of The Empress, the second card in the Tarot’s Major Arcana. Through guided making and discussion, we’ll delve into themes of abundance, creativity, prosperity, and well‑being—drawing inspiration from both Tarot traditions and Jarman’s artistic ethos.
Part 2 — Afternoon Guided Walk (Rotherhithe → Thames Path)
In the afternoon, we take our exploration outdoors with a guided walk along the Thames. Together, we’ll uncover the alchemical and symbolic connections between the river, South London’s shifting landscapes, and Jarman’s creative legacy.
