Step into one of the most inventive theatrical works ever written as Igor Stravinsky’s The Soldier’s Tale comes vividly to life. Blending chamber music, theater, dance, and storytelling, this captivating production follows a soldier whose fateful bargain with the devil leads to an unforgettable journey filled with wit, temptation, consequence, and surprise. Performed by a chamber ensemble with actors and a dancer, the production offers audiences far more than a traditional concert while preserving the rhythmic energy and razor-sharp character of Stravinsky’s celebrated score. More than a century after its premiere, The Soldier’s Tale remains daring, theatrical, and immediate, making this a distinctive Fort Myers Philharmonic experience for longtime classical-music patrons and adventurous newcomers alike.
