SAO, under the direction of Kenneth Slowik, presents C.P.E. Bach’s Symphony No. 3 in C major, Haydn #52, and Schubert Symphony No. 5.About this Event
Founded in 2024 by conductor Kenneth Slowik, the Smithsonian Academy Orchestra is a resident ensemble of the Smithsonian Chamber Music Society, a program of the National Museum of American History. The Orchestra’s repertoire ranges from Bach to Schoenberg, all performed on period-appropriate instruments. Hear them perform CPE Bach Symphony No. 3 in C major (Wq. 182/3, H. 659), Haydn Symphony No. 52 in c minor, and Schubert Symphony No. 5 in B-flat major. SAO concerts are free and open to the public due to the generous support of an anonymous donor.
