About Mukyala
Mukyala The Spa is a facial spa in Carlsbad, California, founded by licensed esthetician Aryea Kalule on one idea: luxury skin care for all. Not everyone can get to a spa, so for one Saturday we’re bringing the steps, the products and licensed estheticians to Columbia.
A community gathering
The Skincare Gathering is two hours of learning about skin care together. Come dressed to impress. Every guest gets all six:
- The steps of skincare. Licensed estheticians take you through an at-home facial one step at a time: double cleanse, exfoliate, mask, then serum, moisturizer and SPF. You learn the order and why it matters. As Aryea puts it: “You’re with your skin more than I am. You should know.”
- Why facials matter. A full facial, demonstrated live, with each step explained as it happens. You see what a facial done right looks like and what to expect from your own.
- Ask an esthetician. A panel of licensed estheticians takes your questions. No question is too basic.
- Your starter kit and shirt. A cleanser, a moisturizer and SPF to take home, and an event t-shirt that isn’t for sale.
- Drinks, a meal and a DJ, with time to mingle between the teaching.
- Games and door prizes. Every guest is entered for the door prizes. One of them is an LED face mask.
When and where. Saturday 17 October, 5 to 7 PM, at Kahler Hall, 5440 Old Tucker Row, Columbia, Maryland. The same program also runs from 1 to 3 PM.
Places are limited. We’ll email you by Wednesday 14 October to confirm your place, or within a day if you sign up after that.

Will I get a facial? The facial is a live demonstration. You learn the steps to do at home.
