Join tutor Sarah Hanks for this half day event in the beautiful village of Shoreham in Kent.As yoga practioners we often spend time diving below the body’s surface considering muscles, joints, connective tissue and even our organs. But how often do we consider the surface of the body?
Come along and learn how paying attention to the skinsuit, dermatones, nerve pathways and the sensory motor cortex deepen our practice and teaching. We will explore why the surface is as important as the depth We will practice movements from Tias Little’s Somatic Awareness Training for Yoga Attunement method which draws on the work of Thomas Hanna, Moshe Feldenkrais and other somatic movement modalities.
Sarah’s teaching style is warm and inclusive. She encourages students to cultivate an attitude of vipassana and introception to deepen and refine their own somatic awareness. Sarah has been a BWY qualified teacher for 20 years, most recently studying and training in Tias Little’s Somatic Awareness Training for Yoga Attunement.
