About this Event
THE SIXTH is an Austin community exploring the connection between faith, work, and everyday life. Join us for an evening of honest conversation, meaningful connections, and encouragement with people from all walks of life.
This month, we’re talking about slowing down. Through a short reading from The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer and guided small-group discussions, we’ll explore Sabbath, burnout, and the challenges of making room for rest.
This is an interactive, social meetup, not a lecture or traditional networking event. Come ready to participate, share your perspective, and connect with others. You’ll be invited to engage in small-group conversations about work, faith, purpose, and life.
All industries, backgrounds, and beliefs are welcome. Whether you’re thriving, feeling stuck, or looking for community, there’s a place for you here.
Free to attend. Casual attire.
All work has meaning
Our careers take up a huge part of our lives, shaping our relationships, our sense of purpose, our stress, and how we spend our time. But conversations about faith and conversations about work don't always happen in the same room.
THE SIXTH creates space for both.
We believe all honest work has dignity and purpose, and that faith has something meaningful to say about how we work, lead, rest, and navigate life's challenges. We're building a community where people can explore those questions together, support one another, and build relationships that go beyond exchanging LinkedIn profiles.
All jobs and industries welcome
Whether you work in an office, serve tables, care for others, work with your hands, a tech founder, in school, or are looking for your next opportunity, you're welcome here.
From corporate professionals and entrepreneurs to tradespeople, service workers, creatives, and students, we believe every vocation has value.
Every industry. Every vocation. Every career stage.
