With foundations in a shared love of golden-era Latin records, their music wraps vibrant and diverse dance grooves into a timeless yet fiercely contemporary sound.
Led by charismatic vocalist Drew Salida, the band has become a standout act on the Bristol scene and beyond, known for their explosive life-affirming shows; featuring feel-good piano hooks, fiery horn lines, rapturous vocals, and, of course, those irresistible Latin beats.
Following the release of their debut record “Introducing… The Shingalings” in 2024 and a string of standout festival performances — including a bill-topping set at Glastonbury — the band has attracted widespread attention and acclaim.
BBC Introducing praised their “super infectious energy,” while BBC 6 Music’s Craig Charles featured one of their tracks in his ‘Best of the Year’ playlist, calling it “they’ve really nailed that ’60s New York Boogaloo sound.”
This year the band are thrilled to have been included in the roster of Bristol’s renowned grassroots champions, Chai Wallahs, and are excited to bring the party to their festival stages this year and beyond.
