The Shepherd and the Church
Biblical Leadership, Formation & the Call to Shepherd God’s People
What does it mean to lead the church as a shepherd?
Join Transform & Train Institute for a special 90-minute seminar with Dr. Boniface Odong, Assistant Professor at Regent University School of Divinity, as we explore the biblical shepherd motif and its implications for ecclesial leadership.
Drawing from his research in 1 Peter, Dr. Odong will help us think beyond leadership as position, influence, or organizational management and examine the biblical image of the shepherd as a model for those entrusted with the care and formation of God’s people.
This gathering is designed for pastors, ministry leaders, seminarians, church leaders, and anyone seeking a deeper biblical understanding of Christian leadership.
What We'll Explore
The Shepherd Motif and Ecclesial Leadership
Dr. Odong will lead us into the biblical and theological foundations of shepherd leadership and consider what this model means for the life and leadership of the church today.
The morning will include teaching, conversation, Q&A, and opportunities to engage resources that extend the discussion beyond the seminar.
Featured Book Giveaways
We’ll give away copies of two books that complement our conversation about leadership, formation, and the church:
1 Peter by Dennis Edwards
Servant Leadership: Jesus and Paul by Efrain Agosto
We’ll briefly introduce each resource and discuss how it can help leaders continue exploring the themes raised during the seminar.
