About this Event
The Session with Nestor Torres & Election Night: Party Before Politics
On September 11, 2001, Nestor Torres was set to receive his Latin Grammy Award. That day, the ceremony never happened. In the days that followed, he wrote a song called The Poet’s Revolution, a song that ends with a message of hope. He held it for 25 years, then released it on September 11, 2026.
On Election Night, Nestor joins us to share the story of that song, and why he held it.
The Session
The Session is an intimate conversation, never more than an hour, with someone whose story is worth hearing. This isn’t a typical fireside chat where a moderator interviews a guest while everyone else listens. Guests can jump in, ask questions and share their thoughts. The conversation belongs to everyone in the room.
The name recalls the great recording sessions, where musicians gathered in the studio and something new took shape. In our case, we gather in the room, and something new takes shape together.
Party Before Politics
When the conversation ends, the night continues. The TVs go on, the music turns up, and we watch the Election Night results come in together. No sides, just neighbors. Whoever you’re voting for, there’s a seat for you here.
