Join LuxeMed and Forté Healthcare for an interactive clinical CPD session exploring pressure injury prevention, microclimate management.
About this Event

What We’ll Cover
  • Microclimate Management & Tissue Viability Understanding the physiological impact of heat, moisture, and airflow on the skin’s stratum corneum. We’ll examine how advanced cover textiles, vapour-permeable materials, and internal mattress breathability help maintain skin integrity and mitigate pressure injury risks.
  • Shear vs. Friction Reduction Unpacking the mechanical forces that cause deep tissue distortion versus superficial skin breakdown. We will explore how targeted foam profiling, multi-directional stretch covers, and internal shear-release mechanisms work together to protect vulnerable tissue during repositioning and bed articulation.
  • Coffee, Catering & Networking (On Us!) Take a breather! Enjoy complimentary coffee and catering while catching up with fellow allied health professionals and chatting directly with the LuxeMed and Forté Healthcare clinical teams.
  • Matching Foam & Air Technology to Clinical Risk (Waterlow Scores) Translating clinical assessment tools (such as Waterlow and Braden scales) into objective support surface selection. We’ll compare static high-resilience foam, reactive hybrid designs, and dynamic alternating air systems to identify clear clinical triggers for stepped-up pressure care.
  • Configurations for Progressive Neurological Conditions Navigating the delicate balance between pressure immersion and functional independence for clients with conditions such as MND, MS, Parkinson's disease, or stroke. We will look at configurations that deliver high-level pressure relief without compromising bed mobility, transfers, or head/trunk stability.
