There are strange things lurking beneath the bridges of Sanford—and we’re going looking for them.We’ll roll out from Dees Brothers Brewery, follow the RiverWalk, cut through a few neighborhoods and make our way beneath the State Road 46 bridge. If trolls are hiding anywhere in Sanford, surely it’s in that dark, shadowy place where the concrete columns rise from the edge of Lake Monroe.
In the old legends, trolls lived far from civilization in caves, mountains and forests. But some found their way beneath bridges, where they could hide from the sunlight, surprise passing travelers and occasionally demand a toll—or perhaps challenge them with a riddle. We won’t have any goats crossing our bridge, but we’ll troll around underneath it and see what we can find.
After our troll hunt, we’ll retrace our route back to Dees Brothers and enjoy a troll’s favorite beverage: beer! 🍺
Expect a fun, casual and slightly weird Sanford Bicycle Club ride. Troll costumes, masks, wild hair and other trollish accessories are strongly encouraged—but not required.
