What does it mean to call a place "home" when you have loved, and left, many?Hindustani vocalist Shoumi Roy closes The Salon Series with Gṛhāntara, a deeply personal recital about the many ways we come to understand home. Gṛha means "home" and antara means "the space in between". Through raga, melody, rhythm, and poetry, the evening moves between longing and joy, rootedness and restlessness, nostalgia and discovery.
Shoumi is joined by Sunny Matharu (tabla), Mohan Bhide (harmonium), and Pavittar Singh Namdhari (esraj).
