About this Event
invites you to the pre-Design Vancouver Festival gathering, an evening of collective listening at the intersection of music, art, and design (M.A.D.).
Rather than background, the music operates as an interpretive mechanism, shaping the listening session's atmosphere, pacing, and attention.
Within this environment, participants are invited into an “open draw”. We will have Andrew Tavukciyan, a Canadian-Armenian multidisciplinary artist and muralist, helping to facilitate the activity: a dialogue with the sound — each informing the other as the evening takes shape.
Listening sessions at Bleach are an opportunity to gather and collectively listen. The Bleach Listening Room is free to enter, offering for purchase a thoughtful selection of wines and small plates. Seating is first-come, first-served.
All levels of listeners are welcome!
---
The public will have the opportunity to participate in two unique versions of the listening experiences:
Sept. 16 @ Bleach Listening Room // 6:00 - 11:00 pm
Sept. 26 @ Artspeak Gallery // 3:30 - 5:30 pm
For the duration of the festival, we will also have a temporary installation located at the Artspeak Off-site that further explores these themes.
This event is presented by The Ryze (www.theryze.ca/), a project of JOMA Studios (https://jomastudios.ca/) operating on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.
