We see it time and time again in the clinic. Everything goes well until it doesn’t mid race block.

Most running injuries are predictable and preventable. A big reason for that is the lack of structured strength work and preparation before training volume increases.

This workshop is designed to help runners understand how strength and conditioning can improve performance, reduce injury risk, and help you stay consistent throughout your training block.

Perfect if you:

  • Want to learn barbell lifting and plyometric techniques
  • Want to start structured running specific strength training that works with your running plan year-round
  • Want to prevent niggles and injuries during marathon training
  • Want to improve performance and build resilience
  • Are in base building or early stages of your next race block

During the workshop we will cover:

  • Key strength and conditioning principles for runners
  • Plyometrics and how they transfer into running performance
  • Foundational strength movements and accessory exercises targeting key stabilising muscles for running
  • Load management and injury prevention principles
  • How to structure strength training around your running (off-seaon vs in-season)

The session will include:

  • Educational presentation
  • Practical gym based workshop

This workshop is ideal for runners preparing for races between September and December including Berlin, Chicago, New York, Valencia, The Big Half, and autumn marathon season.

Duration: 90 minutes
Cost: £5

Spots are limited to ensure everyone gets the support they need in our clinic gym space. Come dressed ready to gym and move.
