About this Event
The Roundtable Conversation is a facilitated small-group networking event where experts connect through deeper conversations about business and professional growth.
Topic for This Session: How Opinionated Should an Expert Be?
Experts are often told they need a strong point of view.
Have an opinion. Challenge the norm. Say something different. Stand for something.
That can help people remember you.
But there is also a risk.
Push too hard and you may sound provocative for attention. Stay too careful and your ideas may become so safe that nobody remembers them.
So where is the line?
How opinionated should an expert actually be?
Questions We Will Explore
- Do experts need strong opinions to build authority?
- What is the difference between having a point of view and being provocative for attention?
- When should an expert challenge accepted thinking, and when is it better to hold back?
- Can saying “I don’t know” or changing your mind strengthen credibility?
Session Format
This is a facilitated small-group conversation for subject matter experts who want to examine the beliefs shaping their professional presence.
You are welcome to bring your own experiences, questions and challenges to the table.
There will be no presentation or fixed formula. You will think through the issue with other experts, hear perspectives you may not have considered and leave with a clearer view of the story you want to carry forward.
Seats are limited to 9 people so everyone has time to speak, think and connect meaningfully.
What past participants said:
“The session was insightful and powerful. The way Dean shared his approach to personal branding was very different from what I’ve seen elsewhere, and I’ve met quite a few personal branding ‘experts’.
Most only cover the surface, but Dean went much deeper. It really made me reflect on what I’m doing now, where I currently stand, and what I need to do differently with my personal brand.
I’d highly recommend joining the next session.”
Val S., Human Design Coach
“It was a very insightful conversation. Dean made us think about things we had never considered before.
It gave me a lot of space to reflect on how I present myself and how I position myself.”
Joey T. SRT Practitioner
“I came in with no expectations and left feeling refreshed.
Most of my networking happens within the same industry. Here, I got to hear stories and perspectives from people with very different experiences.
Matthew Hakim, AI Operational Intelligence
“I’m so glad I made it to this Roundtable Conversation.
I met a founder of an employee benefits platform at the session. After seeing my workshop in action, he decided to onboard us to provide TCM wellness workshops for his corporate clients.
A meaningful conversation turned into a real business opportunity.”
Lee Hui Fang, TCM workshop organiser
