Built in the late 1800s by Asa Roff, the historic Roff House became forever linked to one of America's most mysterious paranormal cases—the Watseka Wonder, widely regarded as the first documented possession case in the United States. For generations, the home has drawn investigators, psychics, historians, and those seeking answers to the unexplained.
Your guide for the evening will be seasoned paranormal investigator and filmmaker Larry Eissler III, Director of The Séance, a documentary filmed at the Roff House over two years ago. During the production, more than 150 visitors participated in investigations that captured compelling paranormal experiences and unexplained phenomena.
One of the home's most unforgettable mysteries is the spirit of a young lady who has greeted countless visitors with a clear, disembodied voice saying:
"Hi... how are you?"
The Roff House has earned a reputation as one of the Midwest's premier locations for capturing Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVPs). From whispers and intelligent responses to chilling conversations beyond explanation, investigators continue to document remarkable evidence within its walls.
The tradition of spirit communication stretches back to Asa Roff himself, who was known to conduct séances inside the home.
