Genesis:

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Now the earth was unformed and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the spirit of God hovered over the face of the waters. And God said: 'Let there be light.' And there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness."

At first, there was sound!

Before light, before form, there was vibration. The first act of creation was a voice: God said, let there be light. The first thing that ever was, was sound. And the first thing created was two: heaven and earth, day and night, darkness and light. Creation began the moment the one became two: two opposites, facing each other, completing each other.

As I experience it, creation was (and still is) an act of reflection - something bringing another into being so it could finally experience itself through the other. That IS Swanning 🦢🖤🦢. Two facing each other, reflecting back and forth, black swan and white swan, each becoming more themselves through the other. Every beginning is a meeting.

Can you reflect on times where it was all one big mess and out of that came something new?

When is it that creation helps you see yourself?

On Thursday, September 17th, ITAI 🎷 re-opens his this living rooms of sorts alongside the luminous NOAMZ 🪈 for a "Swanning" experience, a first light before next week's grand opening. We call it "Sound Connections" as in - connection with others, connection with self, and connection with something bigger than us... This is where it all begins again. Step into the Swan Lake Circle.

This is a soft opening , friends and family to a smaller, softer night to reawaken the experience. If you've been here from the start, this is your night.

Julie Clark 🎹
Julie Clark is a Romanian-born, classically trained pianist and composer combining the power of sound healing, meditation, and breathwork through intuitive improvisations and heart opening frequencies. Julie’s music carries listeners through a soul-touching journey of self discovery using highly emotive themes and free flowing melodies.

The Icarus Kid 🎹

Dan Crowdus launched The Icarus Kid in 2009 in Seattle as a side-project from his synth-pop bands, creating 8 bit video game dance music for live performance. Soon the reaction and his own love for the music caused this to be his primary passion, and eventually evolved into a five-piece band as The Icarus Kids.
In 2018 Dan moved to Los Angeles to reinvent himself and immerse himself into electronic music production. After releasing several successful video game remixes, The Icarus Kid switched into making original house and tech house music in 2024, already hitting #1 on the Beatport charts in 2024 and 2025. His tracks prioritize fun, cheeky, and upbeat grooves, while containing nods to his 8-bit roots.

Andrew Leib 🎸

Andrew Leib is a guitarist and lifelong musician with a deep love for blues, R&B, funk, soul, and jazz. His playing is rooted in groove, feel, and

space.

ITAI 🎷

*** The Dance floor can be a soft and vulnerable space. We like to be present with each other therefore we request it being a "No Phone Zone" (we will record the sessions and take some snippets which will be share on the Sound Connections Pateron channel). For similar reasons, we would love to keep the dance floor a "No Shoes on the dance floor".

💬 You are part of the experience, please dance, scream, sing as long as you respect other peoples space and experience as well <3

***If you want to add an instrument please coordinate in advance since the curation of the night is very intentional.

*** All Sets are being filmed and recorded, pay attention to the “dark areas” if you don’t want to be on camera!

🤫 Let's keep deep conversations off the dancing areas... It's not meant to be a "no talking" environment and most people are trying to connect with the music in a non-verbal way. A great place for deeper conversations is the Tea Lounge (:

The Tea Lounge 🍵
The Tea Lounge is an inseparable part of The Residency's cozy season.
Tea Lounge opens at 8pm, please join us for a cup of tea, games and a hang.

The Story of The Residency - Sound Connections:
From ITAI: "This new season of The Residency is about intimacy and presence. Every Thursday, we'll feature one very special guest artist, sitting across from me as we create the soundtrack for the night from scratch.
This concept I like calling "Swanning": Like two swans facing each other in a moment of deep connection, this allows us to share and respond, creating something raw, alive, and unrepeatable. In this format, the audience surrounds the face-to-face artists which forms a circle that makes everyone part of the experience. Step into the circle (:

The Zula Den:
The Zula Den is a subsidiary of the non-profit Zula Project which is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt charitable organization.
The Zula Den was created to hold space for our facilitators and their guests, our artists and their music, our teachers and their students...
Founded by husband & wife duo Eldad Alfi (@eldadalfi) and Chris Santillan (@chriss2385)

Much Love,
