A restorative space for college and graduate students to ease stress, reconnect with themselves, and build practical tools for well-being.
About this Event

What to Expect

Being a student, whether in college or graduate school, can bring pressure, uncertainty, and the feeling that you need to have your future figured out. Between academic demands, personal responsibilities, and expectations for what comes next, it can be easy to lose touch with yourself along the way. This group offers a welcoming space to slow down, connect with peers, and explore who you are beyond your academic identity.

Through guided journaling, mindfulness, gentle somatic practices, and group conversation, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn practical ways to manage stress through grounding, sensory-based tools, and mindfulness practices you can use during overwhelming moments.
  • Recognize your stress signals and build awareness of how pressure affects your body, emotions, and daily life.
  • Reconnect with who you are beyond grades, productivity, and other people's expectations by identifying your values, strengths, and what makes you feel most like yourself.
  • Identify what you need right now, whether that means setting a boundary, asking for support, creating more balance, or giving yourself permission to slow down.
  • Connect with others who understand the pressures of academic life, making space for honest conversation about expectations, uncertainty, and navigating what's next.

You will leave with practical tools to support your well-being, greater clarity about what matters to you, and concrete ways to care for yourself amid the demands of school and everyday life.

Come as you are. Sharing is always optional, and you are welcome to participate at your own pace. This is time to take a breath, reconnect with yourself, and remember that you are more than what you accomplish.

About the Workshop & Facilitators

This workshop is hosted by Metamorphosis Psychotherapy, a NYC-based, liberation-rooted psychotherapy practice committed to helping people reconnect with themselves, build meaningful connections, and move toward greater well-being. Our integrative approach brings together evidence-based psychotherapy, somatic healing, and an understanding of how our relationships, identities, and environments shape our experiences. We believe healing extends beyond the therapy room and that everyone deserves space to feel supported, grounded, and connected.

Your Facilitators

Cecilia McPeck, LCSW is a therapist at Metamorphosis Psychotherapy who brings a warm, compassionate, and strengths-based approach to her work. She prioritizes creating a space where people feel comfortable exploring their experiences, reconnecting with their strengths, and moving toward healing at their own pace.

Alessandra Fabris-Tantawi, LCSW, M.Ed. is the Founder and Clinical Director of Metamorphosis Psychotherapy, an integrative somatic psychotherapist and adjunct professor at the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. Her work draws on trauma-informed, body-based, and relational approaches to help people better understand themselves, navigate life's challenges, and cultivate a deeper sense of connection and wholeness.

Together, Cecilia and Alessandra will create a welcoming, supportive environment where students can slow down, reflect, connect with others, and leave with practical tools they can carry into their everyday lives.
