Course Overview

Workplace safety is strongly shaped by human behaviour. This course explores the psychological factors that affect safety performance, including resistance, complacency, and a lack of ownership. Through interactive exercises, participants will understand why traditional “train-nag-enforce” methods often fall short, and learn practical, psychology-based techniques to encourage lasting behavioural change. The programme equips safety professionals to strengthen employee engagement and build a proactive, sustainable safety culture.


Course Learning Outcome

Participants will learn how to,;

  • Recognise psychological barriers to safe behaviour such as resistance, complacency, and low ownership.
  • Understand why conventional safety approaches may not lead to sustained change.
  • Apply psychology-backed techniques to drive real and lasting behavioural improvement.
  • Build a proactive workplace safety culture where employees take ownership of their safety behaviours.
