AiDance – West African Dance Connection

Spend a day with us celebrating West African dance, rhythm, storytelling and community. The programme includes djembe drumming workshop with Mohamed Gueye accompanied and bringing West African dance with Landing Mane and myself a taste of Senegal in the UK.
SATURDAY 30th MAY
Location: Chisenhale Dance Space, 64-84 Chisenhale road, London, E3 5QZ
AiDance will present a mini performance rooted in power, spirit and deep cultural connection. This 3rd event brings together movement, music and storytelling to create an immersive journey through West African rhythm and tradition.
SATURDAY 30th MAY – 10:00am to 6:00pm
ALL DAY
Three workshops, each 1 hour 30 minutes, with 15‑minute breaks between sessions.
10:00am – Registration
Morning serving Beignet & Cafe Touba
10:30am – 12:00pm: MOHAMED GUEYE – DJEMBE DRUMMING Workshop
12:00pm – 12:15pm – Warm up / Movement Preparation
12:15pm – 1:45pm: AIDA DIOP (Senegal) – West African Dance
2:00pm – 3:30pm: LANDING MANE (Senegal) – West African Dance
Afternoon serving Fatija with a range of juices Bissap, Ginger & Boabab
4:00pm – 5:00pm: PERFORMANCE
