THE POWER OF A CONVERSATION.

For the Somali community, the importance of this conversation cannot be overstated. Cultural norms and societal pressures may discourage individuals from seeking help or even acknowledging their mental health struggles. Consequently, many suffer in silence, feeling isolated and unable to access the support they need.

Under the theme of "The Power of a Conversation," our event aims to confront the unique issues faced by the Somali community regarding mental health and facilitate crucial dialogues with relevant agencies and support groups. It serves as a safe and understanding space where community members can openly discuss their experiences, share resources, and learn from experts.

Esteemed keynote speakers, including Mustafa Omer, Imam & Specialist CBT Psychotherapist, and Safia Jama MBE, CEO of WITs and Mental Health Trainer, will provide valuable insights tailored to the Somali community. By addressing topics such as mental health in Islam and key challenges specific to Tower Hamlets, they aim to empower individuals to seek help without fear or judgment.
