Session 2: Code of Conduct for Medical Interpreters - Cultural Awareness

Summary of the session

Interpreters’ role is not just linguistic; it is also about fostering empathy, advocacy, and cultural sensitivity. As medical interpreters, ethical conduct is paramount. During this second session we will emphasize the importance of maintaining confidentiality, impartiality, and professionalism. Our goal is to equip you with a solid understanding of the industry’s ethical standards, ensuring you provide accurate and unbiased interpreting services. We will also have many dilemmas to tackle that would enrich your experience. We will also go into cultural awareness as part of our role as cultural brokers.
