About this Event
The Poetic Film Screening
A special screening of The Poetic: Director's Cut, a short documentary following lyricist and emcee Byron Morgan and his family of musicians, whose voices and artistry have shaped his journey every step of the way. At its heart, this film celebrates Black music, the creative bonds of musicianship, and the culture that keeps evolving through its creation.
Hosted by storyteller and filmmaker Christopher Albert De La Roa, this cut includes extended footage and moments you won't find anywhere else.
Check out the trailers and more info here.
Whether you're new to Christopher's or Byron's work, or already know their stories, this film captures something raw, honest, and thoughtful about the creative process of writing and producing, and I think you'll connect with it.
