The Playlist Set: Baltimore x Detroit Edition
A collaboration of music, moves, and vibes.
Mariska Moves presents a night of social dancing at Motor House, with guest dancers and a DJ from Detroit joining Baltimore's dance community on one floor.
WHAT TO EXPECT
7:00 PM | Beginner Chicago Steppin' Workshop
New to Steppin'? Start here. Instructor Ed Donaldson of Detroit will teach the basics of Chicago Steppin' in a welcoming, no-experience and no-partner needed class.
8:00 PM – 12:00 AM | Dance Party
DJ HarvDawg (Harvey Dobbs) will spin a set curated by the collective. Steppin' is the heart of the night, with room for line dancing, Detroit Ballroom, and whatever else the music calls for. Guest dancers Tech, Dre Bell and Tori Jones will be on the floor all night.
A PLAYLIST WE BUILD TOGETHER
The music is part of the collaboration. Submit your song requests when you register, and the DJ will work as many as possible into the night.
WHO IT'S FOR
Beginners, seasoned steppers, and anyone who loves to move. No partner needed, and all levels are welcome.
ABOUT THE EVENT
The Playlist Set celebrates Black dance and Black joy, and the connection between Detroit and Baltimore dance communities.
