As part of April Arts Month, The University of Akron School of Performing Arts celebrates the merger of School of Music and School of Dance, Theatre, and Arts Administration with the classic opera, Pirates of Penzance.“Avast me hearties!”
“Batten down the hatches” for Pirates of Penzance is coming to Sandefur Theatre April 10, 11, and 12. A young man, Frederic, is mistakenly apprenticed to a band of pirates. This “Buccaneer" meets and falls in love with a beautiful young “lassie", Mabel, one of the “Landlubber” Major-General Stanley’s many daughters. The story unfolds with “Run a Rigs” (humorous twists and turns), piratical humor, “scallywags”, “booty”, and jaunty sea chanties. This performance will have you rolling in your seats, whistling all the way home, and shouting “Shiver me timbers!”
Don’t become “Shark Bait”, get your tickets now for Pirates of Penzance!
Remember “Dead Men Tell No Tales.” "Aaaarrrrgggghhhhh!!!"
