This fantastically runnable 30 mile Ultra Marathon will test your limits as it takes you through the heart of the Brecon Beacons on beautiful, but technical trails. Book quickly as there are only 250 entries! The ultra starts at Georgetown, Merthyr Tydfil, and works its way onto the Taff Trail. After a few miles, you will split away to follow the trails alongside the River Taff heading north towards the Beacons Reservoir.
Once at the far end of the reservoir, the route crosses the A470 and climbs to the summit of Pen y Fan (the highest peak in South Wales at 886 meters). Once at the top, a descent of Jacobs ladder will lead you to the Roman Road taking you to Torpantau.
From here you will take the forestry track alongside Dolygaer and Pontsticill Reservoir, providing fantastic views over the valley.
As you descent from the forest tracks, you return to the trails of the Taff Fechan Nature Reserve and head for the finish line in Georgetown.
This is a great route for those looking to take the step up to a trail Ultra Marathon whilst also catering to experienced ultra runners.
