ABOUT STEVE BARRY:
Hailed as “one of Australia’s most inventive and accomplished composer/improvisers” (Loudmouth), Dr Steve Barry is a pianist, organist, composer, educator, and the Program Leader for Jazz at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. His 2023 album In The Waves features international jazz luminaries Eric Harland (USA) and Will Vinson (USA/UK) and was praised by the Sydney Morning Herald as “...the finest instalment to date of the pianist’s bristling musical intelligence, rhythmic mutability, melodic flair and compositional gifts.” Barry's work traverses across the jazz, art music and musical theatre worlds, as well as long-standing cross-cultural partnerships in Japan and Vietnam.
