About the Old Stone House & Washington Park
The Brooklyn Dodgers were known as the Brooklyn Bridegrooms from 1888-1898. They played Major League Baseball right here at Washington Park, and used the Old Stone House as the team clubhouse.
Today, the Old Stone House acts as the conservancy organization for the park, caring for the gardens, playgrounds, and recreation spaces. Your support is the most important part of making Washington Park a vibrant public space!
The Old Stone House & Washington Park is a historic house museum, a Revolutionary War battle site, and the original home of the Brooklyn Dodgers. At the heart of our community, we are also a welcoming neighborhood cultural institution focused on connecting the past to the present through educational, environmental, and arts programming all year round.
