Join us for the 2nd class of a 6 week journey into Homer's epic poem The Odyssey. We will read Emily Wilson's translation of this foundational text of western literature. We will explore the book together, discuss themes of mythology, ancient history, adventure and compare the original work with the recent blockbuster movie adaptation.Participants will need to purchase and bring their own copy of The Odyssey, translated by Emily Wilson. Participation is FREE and registration is requested via the ticket link below.
This discussion will be facilitated by David White, who has served as the Chair of the History Department at Kaufman High School for the past 25 years. He earned a Masters in the Humanities from Southern Methodist University in 2017 and enjoys diving into classic literature.
