What does it take to give an injured or orphaned wild animal a second chance?Join us for The Next Second Chance, a special ExtraGive open house at Acorn Acres Wildlife Rehabilitation!
📅 Friday, November 20, 2026
⏰ 5:00–9:00 PM
📍 2100 Stone Mill Road, Lancaster, PA
Step inside Lancaster County’s first and only commercial, non-residential wildlife rehabilitation and education facility. Meet the people behind the mission, explore the clinic, learn what professional wildlife rehabilitation truly involves, and discover how community support helps patients move from rescue and medical care to rehabilitation and release.
We are also excited to welcome our friends from Red Creek Wildlife Center, whose partnership helps ensure Pennsylvania wildlife receives the specialized care each animal needs.
Acorn Acres is led by Lancaster County’s only Certified Wildlife Rehabilitator™. Our 100% volunteer-run team provides specialized care for native prey species and Virginia opossums, from mice to beavers. We receive no tax funding and rely on our community to provide food, medicine, diagnostics, safe housing, and skilled care for hundreds of wild patients each year.
Every ExtraGive donation helps create what comes next: another rescue, another recovery, another release and another wild life given a second chance.
One extraordinary evening. Countless second chances.
Bring your family, invite your friends, and come see why the smallest lives play such an essential role in Pennsylvania’s ecosystems. We cannot wait to welcome you!
