Performed by Mystery Ensemble in the historic Grote Kerk, one of The Hague’s most iconic landmarks in the heart of the city, this programme invites audiences of all ages to rediscover the unforgettable atmosphere of the famous Harry Potter films through their most iconic musical themes, bringing to life the emotion, adventure and magic of the story.
The film’s soundtrack was masterfully composed by John Williams. The composer wrote the music in Los Angeles and at Tanglewood, before it was recorded at Abbey Road and Air Lyndhurst studios in London in September 2001.
The film features many characteristic leitmotifs, most of which returned in the second part of the franchise, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. The main composition, Hedwig’s Theme, appears in modified form throughout all the films. The soundtrack was released on CD on 30 October 2001.
On 14 December 2001, the soundtrack was certified gold in Canada, with 50,000 units sold, and in January 2002 in Japan, with 100,000 units sold. In 2002, John Williams was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Score, but the award went to Howard Shore for The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, music from which can also be heard at our concerts.
The album was a success, peaking at number 48 on the Billboard 200 and number two on the Top Soundtracks chart. In the official UK charts, the album reached number 19.
The concert is organised by the creative agency RED EVENTS & Distribution Ltd., known for producing exceptional cultural experiences in historic mansions, on rooftops, in greenhouses, and in some of the most atmospheric venues across Europe, the United Kingdom, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and beyond. Their repertoire also includes a distinctive collection of candlelit concerts and fully immersive performances combining video art and sound.

🎻 Mystery Ensemble Founded in the UK in 2021, Mystery Ensemble is an international collective of musicians presenting immersive concert programmes across Europe. Blending classical, contemporary and cinematic repertoire, the ensemble performs in unique venues through specially created arrangements for chamber formations and small orchestras.
Its founder, Alexander Almin, has devoted over 15 years of his life to the music industry and the development of cultural initiatives around the world, collaborating with outstanding musicians in different countries.
The ensemble’s repertoire ranges from the music of Ludovico Einaudi, Hans Zimmer, Joe Hisaishi and Ólafur Arnalds to tributes to Queen, The Beatles and iconic film soundtracks including The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Interstellar and Star Wars. Classical masterpieces by composers such as Mozart, Bach, Beethoven and Tchaikovsky also form an important part of its artistic identity.
For its concerts in the Netherlands, Mystery Ensemble collaborates with musicians based locally, bringing together an international artistic vision with the country’s vibrant classical music scene.

Uitgevoerd door Mystery Ensemble in de historische Grote Kerk, een van de meest iconische bezienswaardigheden van Den Haag in het hart van de stad, nodigt dit programma bezoekers van alle leeftijden uit om de onvergetelijke sfeer van de beroemde Harry Potter-films opnieuw te beleven aan de hand van hun meest iconische muzikale thema’s, waarbij de emotie, het avontuur en de magie van het verhaal tot leven worden gebracht.

🎻 Mystery Ensemble
Mystery Ensemble werd in 2021 opgericht in het Verenigd Koninkrijk en is een internationaal collectief van musici dat meeslepende concertprogramma’s presenteert in heel Europa. Het ensemble combineert klassieke, hedendaagse en filmmuziek en treedt op bijzondere locaties op met speciaal gecreëerde arrangementen voor kamermuziekbezettingen en kleine orkesten.
Oprichter Alexander Almin is al meer dan vijftien jaar actief in de muziekindustrie en zet zich in voor de ontwikkeling van culturele initiatieven over de hele wereld. Daarbij werkt hij samen met vooraanstaande musici uit verschillende landen.
