Welcome to the inaugural most Wuthering Heights day ever in NZ's fourth largest city! Location: Governor's Green, Hamilton Gardens - Gate 2. This is an annual global event where fans gather in red dresses to recreate the iconic 1978 music video for Kate Bush’s song "Wuthering Heights". We will dress up and dance together .... it's me..... Cathy!!!!!!!!
The first version of the 'Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever' took place in England 2013 and was created by performance collective Shambush! who attempted to set an unofficial world record for the most people dressed as Kate Bush in one place, with hundreds attending. It is with thanks to Shambush our founders and Wuthermothers, that this annual event now happens all around the world.
The event is scheduled on a date close to Kate's birthday (which happens to be the same day as Emily Brontë's birthday) - it is an inclusive event with dancers of all ages, abilities, and genders wearing red in a tribute to her costume in the Wuthering Heights music video.
