This one-day boutique family building expo is the only fully inclusive in person, educational event in Australia.

What is The Modern Family Show?

Originally designed in the UK and since rolled out into the US for the LGBTQ+ community (but accessible for everyone) with educational content designed around every type of family informing attendees about US family building options, inc surrogacy and IVF/IUI, Adoption, Fostering, Co-Parenting, Fertility Preservation, Solo Parenting, and Egg/Sperm Donation. Supported by our charity partner Rainbow Families. With some of the leading fertility clinics in attendance we're confident there isn't another event with the calibre of professionals and brands attending this show.

Infertility

With infertility impacting 1:7 Heterosexual couples we wanted to create a space where everyone could come together for support and advice on what their steps step to parenthood could look like.

Local Charity

We are also committed to giving back to the local Sydney LGBTQ+ community and therefore we are donating 50% of all ticket sales to our charity partner, Rainbow Families.

With amazing, world class exhibitors, inspirational speakers, access to our "Advocates" all with lived experience of the different paths to parenthood, coupled with an unparalleled educational seminar programme, The Modern Family Show is the only event to attend when looking to start or grow your family.

DESIGNED AND MANAGED BY GAY PARENTS

Having an event completely designed around the needs of the LGBTQ+ community, is long overdue. It's actually embarrassing it doesn't exist. Our founders (Michael and Wes) have had their very own family building journey via Gestational Surrogacy and Egg Donation, and their passion for fighting for equitable access to fertility care and family building options. Their passion and dedication have led them to create this unique family creation event in Sydney, as well as London, UK and San Francisco, US. We're proudly taking residency at the impressive Sofitel Darling Harbour, Sydney on 29 April 2023.

We’re confident that The Modern Family Show has ambition to not only look and feel different, but with its uniquely marketed design and overall event objective were confident we will give both Intended Parents/Carers and Exhibitors an event to be proud of.

The Modern Family Show has teamed up with some of the leading Social Media Parenting Influencers (our advocates) to act as the voice for their chosen family group and wider parenting community, to ensure they are represented and help promote the event on Facebook, Instagram and in their blogs to a targeted LGBTQ+ audience, something never attempted before in Australia. Our advocates are all parents or parents to be, and whether that’s as a result of Fostering, Adoption, Trans-Parents, Co-parenting, Surrogacy or Sperm/Egg donation, we have one of the most authentic marketing campaigns ever attempted for an Australian LGBTQ+ and family building event.

We want everyone to achieve their dreams of family building, that's why the show is about modern family building. The traditional way isn't always possible with 1 in 7 heterosexual people in Australia impacted by infertility - this show is for you too. We'd love to help, support and guide you understand the next step in your fertility journey.

EVENT HISTORY

The team at The Modern Family Show know all too well the issues and challenges faced when wanting to create a family; after all many of our team are same sex parents themselves and have been on quite the journey to parenthood.

Their passion and dedication have led them to create this unique family creation event originally in the heart of central London in 2021 and 2022, the US in March 2023 and due to its success, it's now coming to Australia in April 2023.

Our exclusive and impressive Modern Family Show Main Stage as well as our Educational Hub will deliver both inspiring and life changing educational sessions from some of the leading experts who specialise in Fertility, Adoption, Fostering and LGBTQ+ family building, across our three educational seminar spaces.
