Coastal Carolina University's Department of Visual Arts presentsTHE MOBILE MUSEUM:
INDIGENOUS MASKS
Indigenous masks are more than simply objects. The next Mobile Museum explores questions of authenticity, cultural heritage, and representation through Indigenous masks and other cultural objects. Bringing these objects into conversation, the exhibition considers how material culture preserves histories, carries cultural knowledge, and tells stories across generations, while also inviting reflection on what makes an object authentic and who has the authority to define and interpret cultural heritage.
The Mobile Museum Workshop Series offers students a rare opportunity to engage directly with historical objects and explore how art communicates cultural, political, and social ideas.
