About this Event
IN-PERSON EVENT in Downtown Phoenix
Grammar is the DNA of all great writing. Skilled authors utilize the psycholinguistics of grammar to control their narratives and keep their novels engaging. They know which side of a verb to hug with an adverb; the key difference between an adjective that ends in -ed vs. -ing; the temporal effects of using the present simple versus the present progressive. They can frame a single sentence so that it puppeteers their audience to feel a certain way or expect a certain thing, and they use that same technique to deliver a mind-blowing twist later.
If this sounds remarkable, relatable, or enticing, then you should take our grammar workshop, because it's the only way to learn how to write like this!
Join Mike Oppenheim as he reveals all the best grammatical secrets gained from a 15-year career teaching grammar and creative writing to students from Junior High through College. This fun and fulfilling 3-hour course won't make your head spin, but it will blow your mind. Writers of all skill levels will leave with new tricks to make their writing more captivating and marketable.
Here's a small taste of what to expect:
- Tips for how to trim sentences down to the most effective level.
- Advice for how to make small variances at the sentence-level to control your audience's emotional and affective experience.
- A full mastery of every nuance of English grammar so you have the exuberant confidence required to pen, edit, and release your very own book!
This seminar is not just for authors of fiction and non-fiction. It's for anyone who wants to feel confident about their emails and all other modern correspondence. Be prepared to see less blue and green squiggles in your documents!
