About this Event
The Mermaid Ward, an autobiographical feature documentary chronicles the events that preceded a psychotic episode Mischa Jakupcak experienced years ago. It culminated in a spiritual emergency, during which she believed the entire world was a film set and she was cast as the lead actor. Mischa was admitted to the Mermaid Ward, a psychiatric hospital in London. There, armed with smuggled cameras, she slowly reconstructed her fractured reality one photograph at a time.
