On the evening of the 6th December 2026, my partner, the Mayor of Tewkesbury Borough, is holding a Grand Regency Ball at the George Watson Memorial Hall on Barton Street in Tewkesbury in the UK! The dress code is Regency inspired.and all are welcome, whether you are local to the borough, or not, an experienced Regency dancer, or not, a serious reenactor, or not! The dance calling will be done by Dr Helen Davidge and the Georgettes of Oxford, with live, period-appropriate music provided by the Capability Consort. Tickets are £45, with this fee in aid of my partner's favoured charities as Mayor, Let's Talk Well & Gloucestershire Young Farmers Clubs. There will be a dance workshop at the George Watson Memorial Hall on the afternoon of the 6th so you can learn some of the basic dance steps, if you are nervous or unsure! Tewkesbury is a gorgeous historic town and, indeed, Gloucestershire in general has a lot of Georgian and Regency history, which my partner is keen to demonstrate in his role as Mayor of Tewkesbury Borough.
