🌊 IT’S BACK — THE MATĀKANA ISLAND LAP! 🌊Action Sports Direct is inviting ALL Jet Ski owners to join us for another epic lap around Matākana Island!
📅 Sunday 11 October
📍 Pilot Bay, Mount Maunganui
🕗 Meet from 8:00am
🚀 Ride departs approx. 9:00am — wait for the horn!
We’ve had 150+ skis on previous Loop rides — this year, let’s see if we can crack 200!
THE RIDE
We’ll leave Pilot Bay at approximately 9:00am and head north along the ocean side of Matākana Island.
We’ll stop at the northern end of Matākana / Bowentown (Anzac Bay) for a quick break before heading through the harbour at approximately 9:45am towards Ōmokoroa.
We’ll finish up at Ōmokoroa for a picnic (BYO food and drinks) before everyone disperses from there.
This is NOT a race. It’s a relaxed, social and family-friendly ride for Jet Ski owners of all experience levels.
It’s an awesome opportunity to get out on the water, explore our incredible harbour and cross the Matākana Island Loop off the bucket list!
GOOD TO KNOW
You’re welcome to launch wherever is most convenient and meet the group along the way or at Bowentown.
If possible, please bring a sand anchor, as beach space can be at a premium with this many skis.
☀️ Weather permitting.
A backup date will be advised if conditions prevent the ride from going ahead.
