Marvellous Miss Midd
Location: Panshanger ParkTime: Saturday 13th September, 2:30pmGroup size: Maximum 20 peopleDuration: Approx. 45 minutesSuitable for: Adults and older children (children must be accompanied by an adult)
Celebrate the life of a local legend who inspired generations of young riders at Panshanger Park.
From the post-war years until her passing in 2002, Joan Middleton – affectionately known as Miss Midd – brought joy, laughter, and lifelong memories to hundreds of children through her riding school based at Panshanger Stables.
Join her godson Charles Runcie for a heartwarming illustrated talk celebrating Miss Midd’s extraordinary life and her enduring legacy. Through stories, personal photos, and memories from former pupils, this talk paints a vivid picture of life at Panshanger in the mid-20th century – from mounted games and fancy dress parades to her pioneering work as a leading show organiser.
Please note:
- This is a seated talk.
- Suitable for adults and older children (children must be accompanied by an adult).
