Following the talk, the walk will explore some of Panshanger’s key historic features:
- The remains of the original house
- The iconic Repton-designed view across the Mimram Valley
- The Orangery and its gardens (with a possible closer look inside the fence, subject to volunteer availability)
- The legendary Panshanger Oak, which has welcomed royalty, prime ministers, ambassadors, and TV personalities
- The site Repton envisioned as the ideal location for the house
Please note:
- The walk covers approximately 1.5 miles, mainly on gravel or grassy paths.
- Surfaces may be uneven or muddy in wet weather – please wear suitable footwear.
- The route is mostly level, with one short descent and climb near the Oak.
