Step into the magic of midwinter mischief at The Marino Mummers Ball on 13th January 2026!
Everyone is invited to come as a mummer and bring an instrument if you play one. Just dress in disguise! You don't need to have a straw hat to be a mummer. Think masks, tea towels, net curtains, pillow cases. Get creative from head to toe!
We meet at the front gates of the Marino Institute of Education at 7pm sharp, where all the mummers will strike up a tune and parade through the campus in full colour and chaos. Follow the masks, the music, and the mayhem as the march leads straight into the heart of the Ball.
Inside, the night opens out into a feast of music, song, dance, and celebration as we close the mumming season together. Keeping the floor hopping is the mighty Mummers Ball Band: Stephen Doherty, Cathy Jordan, David Doocey & Patrick Doocey, bringing rhythm, lift and plenty of mischief to the night.
Guiding the festivities is your host and Marino artist-in-residence, Edwina Guckian, weaving the threads of tradition, story and community through the evening.
Dress warm for the parade, dress wild for the Ball, and join us for a night of celebrating old customs in the community.
