About this Event
The Reverend Dr. Gary Mason – internationally known peace-builder and Methodist minister who played an integral role in the Northern Ireland peace process – will speak at the Darrell West Lecture on Religion and Politics on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 7 p.m., at Central Congregational Church in Providence (296 Angell Street / www.centralchurch.us). Rev. Mason’s lecture will address the dynamics of religious fundamentalism and sectarian violence, drawing on lessons from the Northern Ireland “Troubles” and his recent work in the United States and Middle East. The lecture will conclude with a question-and-answer forum open to the audience.
