About this Event
In this very experiential and fun class, you will learn all about the magic and lore of mugwort and pine, and how to make some good herbal medicine through ethical wildcrafting and foraging.
This will be highly experiential and an on-foot class in the Presidio of San Francisco.
We will go over the ethics and important considerations for wild foraging. And then you will get to go on a nice walk and connect with the incredibly powerful mystical Mugwort (a native wild plant) as well as immerse yourself in the magic of Pine.
- Mugwort has been revered in many cultures around the globe for thousands of years, and is known for its pain relieving support, as well as its ability to help us tune into the dream realm more consciously. Learn how to make a powerfully medicinal oil through ethical wildcrafing, and a dream pillow with this powerful herb.
- There are over 80 species of pine trees across the globe. In the presidio alone you will get to see several varietals and learn hot to connect with this wonderful evergreen tree which is antibacterial and versatile in its support of the body - for colds, chest congestion, flus and more.
The deep and powerful wisdom of the herbal realm has mostly been forgotten in our modern culture. Plants, flowers, trees and herbs are incredible allies for our health. Opening up your vision to the medicinal plants growing everywhere is a key to seeing beyond what is often called the “green wall” of nature. Knowing what you are seeing is a very exciting revelation.
Note : This class will be outdoors so please make sure to dress accordingly with warm and cool layers as we know the weather can shift easily in the Bay Area. And be prepared in case it rains! Please also wear good hiking-type shoes!
This is a good walk/hike through parts of the Presidio with some up hill portions!
This class is open to those who are curious, and want to deepen in their awareness of working with what I call our “green allies.”

NOTE : Herbalism doesn’t have to be put in the place of either or - working with plants can support anything else you are doing to support your system and overall health. All of our ancestors at some point had a deep connection to the land, to the herbs and plants or green realm, to the animals and waters in order to survive. This connection to our roots and deeper belonging was severed, and it is time to reclaim the wisdom we all long for again.
About Your Guide :
Crystal Marie Higgins is a lineaged Initiated High Priestess in Celtic traditions, an Initiated Witch, as well as a Yoga Teacher, a Folk Herbalist and an Ethical Marketer. She has been in devotion to earth wisdom, the cycles of the moon and the seasons since 2012. She loves to create, to cook and share that magic with others!
Crystal’s intention is to awaken our consciousness toward the radical practice of attuning your life and the flows of your creativity to the seasons of the year, the cycles of the moon and the wisdom found in the everyday. She is a lover of the plant realm, being outdoors and engaging in sacred rituals.
