Help Us Keep The Lounge Safe The Lounge has always been about more than just a space. It's about community, connection, belonging and creating somewhere that people feel welcomed, supported and, most importantly, safe.
Unfortunately, The Lounge was recently broken into. During the break-in, some of our technology and equipment were stolen, along with personal belongings belonging to members of our community.
It's been a really disappointing experience, not just because of the things that were taken, but because of the impact it has had on the sense of safety we've worked so hard to create.
Since then, we've replaced our door locks and made as many security improvements as we can with the resources available to us. But there's still more we need to do.
And that's where we're asking our community to come together.
We're hosting a fundraiser to help us raise the money needed to install a reliable, quality security system at The Lounge with an alarm system.
This isn't just about protecting equipment or a building. It's about making sure our team, our incredible volunteers, the people who spend time in our space and our neighbours can feel safe and secure.
The Lounge exists because of community, and we want to make sure it continues to be a place where people can come together without fear or worry.
We're not asking our community to replace what was stolen. We're asking for your help to protect what we've built together.
Whether you attend our fundraiser, make a donation via our Go Fund Me, share our event or simply help spread the word, every little bit makes a difference.
We believe that safe, welcoming community spaces matter. And we believe they're worth protecting.
Let's come together, look after one another and keep The Lounge a safe place for everyone.
