Ricky Alan Draughn takes the stage at Flint Street Theater for an intimate evening of live music presented as part of The Lounge, a new live performance series at Flint Street Theater.
A celebrated New Haven vocalist, Draughn brings his powerful tenor voice and dynamic stage presence to Flint Street for an evening of live music spanning soul, R&B, gospel, jazz, and beyond. Known for his emotive performances and collaborations with artists across generations, Draughn has performed everywhere from the Blue Note to the Apollo Theater and shared the stage with artists including Chaka Khan, George Clinton, The Whispers, Macy Gray, and others.
The evening will offer an intimate look at Draughn’s artistry through live performance and visual storytelling, creating a unique listening experience. Norwalk-based R&B artist Saige Noelle will join as the opener.
At 7PM, before live music begins, join us for a unique pre-show experience designed to set the tone for the performances. Ticket holders are invited to settle in for a vinyl listening sessions featuring records curated by GRAILS on Chapel, light bites prepared by Chef Megan Gill of BLDG Restaurant at Hotel Marcel, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase.
The Lounge is a new pilot series at Flint Street Theater built around intimate live performances and visual storytelling. Each program creates an opportunity for artists to share their work in a more personal setting, bringing audiences closer to the people, stories, and creative traditions behind the music.
The series grew out of Dear Nina, a tribute to Nina Simone featuring Lady Stout, and will continue to evolve with each performance—whether celebrating an influential artist, showcasing original work, or simply giving exceptional performers a room to do what they do best.
At its heart, The Lounge is about good music, good company, and making room for artists and audiences to experience something together.
